About Stavropol State Medical University
Stavropol State Medical University had its first intake of students in 1938. It was previously known as Stavropol State Medical Academy. In February 2013, the Academy officially became a university and thus got its current name. It was an important development in the history of the university. On February 18, 2013, the official state registration of amendments to the Charter of the former Stavropol State Medical Academy took place.
The university has 7 faculties, where more than 4,500 Russian and foreign students from 30+ countries are trained. The General Medicine course in English medium was started in 2005 by this university. There are about 5 lakh books and periodicals in the library of the university. Since 2010, a large digital library has been created and updated.
