Before we dive into the year-wise syllabus of MBBS in Ukraine, we need to understand what ECTS is and how it is beneficial to the students who choose to study MBBS in Ukraine.
European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System:
ETCS or the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System is a mechanism of the European Higher Education Area which makes the studies and courses more transparent. It basically helps students to easily move from one country to another and to have their academic qualifications and study periods recognised.
The European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System credits represent learning based on defined learning outcomes and their associated workload. It is a central tool in the Bologna Process, which aims to make national education systems more comparable internationally.
ECTS has been adopted by most of the countries in the European Higher Education Area as the national credit system and is increasingly used elsewhere. It is followed in the following countries:
Austria, Belguim, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, Wales & Northern Ireland, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Scotland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Turkey, Ukraine, Georgia.

About MBBS in Ukraine Syllabus
In Ukraine, the course duration is 5.8 years. The first three years are mostly theoritical and from the fourth year onwards, all the classes will be conducted in the various hospitals which are linked with the university. The doctors play a dual role as they will be your teachers too. There will be regular exams at the university and all the universities in Ukraine follow the same syllabus. There is no difference in the syllabus of any two universities in Ukraine.
Note for Indian students:
The syllabus of all the universities in Ukraine is same, however, the system of teaching Indian students is better in some universities like Bukovinian State Medical University and Vinnitsa National Medical University. These universities have the best FMGE passing percentage in Ukraine. Bukovinian State Medical University has incorporated some aspects of the MBBS syllabus of India itno its syllabus.
Also, Indian doctors also teach Indian students in Ukraine for screening test coaching.
