Pros –

• No.2 MBBS in Ukraine university
• It is a WHO recognized university
• One of the 16 NMC recognized universities when the list was maintained
• More than 230 years old government university
• High FMGE passing percentage in Ukraine
• Most of the hostels are at the campus only
• All the departments are in one place
• Very strict university
• No corruption
• Easy connectivity as there is an International Airport in Lviv
• Indian mess facility available

Cons –

• Very strict university, not for below-average students
• Limited intake, we recommend applying as soon as possible
• Not a big base of Indian graduates
• 2nd highest tuition fee in Ukraine and therefore a high budget is required
• The cost of renting a flat in Lviv is higher than in cities like Chernivtsi, Ternopil, Vinnitsa

Bogomolets National Medical University, Kyiv

Pros –

• It is a WHO recognized government university
• More than 175 years old
• Decent FMGE result
• Located in Kyiv, the capital city of Ukraine
• Highest populated city in Ukraine
• 1,400+ Indian students currently enrolled
• There are regular direct flights from Delhi to Kyiv
• Indian Embassy is located in Kyiv
• Indian mess facility available

Cons –

• 67% marks required in 12th, therefore, not every student is eligible
• Many problems relating to corruption in recent years
• The admission process is slow from the university’s end
• Too many distractions in Kyiv for students
• Hostels are 4-5 km away from campus, travel expenses, therefore, add to your budget
• The cost of renting a flat in Kyiv is higher than in cities like Chernivtsi, Ternopil, Vinnitsa
• Many better options available within Ukraine

Kharkiv National Medical University, Kharkiv

Pros –

• Best MBBS in Ukraine university recently
• WHO recognized government university located in Kharkiv
• The university is over 200 years old
• Kharkiv is the 2nd largest city in Ukraine
• High population in Kharkiv
• Highest FMGE passing percentage in Ukraine in the year 2019
• 1,900+ Indian students currently enrolled
• The highest number of Indian students in Ukraine are in Kharkiv city
• Separate floors available for Indian girls in some hostels
• Has a big base of Indian graduates working in India
• Very good Indian mess facility available at hostel campus with Indian cooks

• Kharkiv is the 2nd largest city in Ukraine

• Previously known as Ternopil State Medical University, it became a National level university in 2019
• One of the MCI or NMC recognized universities when the list was maintained
• More than 60 years old
• 900 + Indian students currently enrolled
• Medium budget, it is a budget-friendly university
• It has an Indian Students Society (only 2 universities in Ukraine have a student’s society)
• Very strict university
• No corruption
• Indian mess available within hostel with Indian cooks
• Indian Festivals are organized and celebrated by the Indian Students Society of TNMU
• The cost of renting a flat is low in Ternopil than in cities such as Kyiv, Lviv, Kharkiv

Cons –

• Very strict university, not for below-average students
• Ternopil is not a big city
• Mostly, students travel between Kyiv and Ternopil via train and it takes time

Vinnitsa National Medical University, Vinnitsa

Pros –

• MCI recognized university when the list was maintained
• Currently, a WHO recognized government university
• Established in 1921
• Hostels are at the campus
• Close to Kyiv, it takes 2.5 hours via train to reach Vinnytsia city from Kyiv, travel cost is low.
• High FMGE passing percentage in Ukraine in 2019
• 1,500+ Indian students currently enrolled
• Indian mess available with Indian cooks
• The cost of renting a flat is lower in Vinnytsia than in cities such as Kyiv, Lviv, Kharkiv

Cons –

• Not a big city
• Limited seats in hostels (better to stay in flats from 1st year itself or 2nd year)
• Highest tuition fee in Ukraine and therefore a high budget is required

Pros –

• WHO recognized government university
• Was on the list of 16 MCI recognized universities when the list was maintained
• More than 185 years old
• Located in Kyiv, the capital city of Ukraine
• It is the city with the highest population and patient flow in Ukraine
• QS World University Ranking is 541-550
• There are regular and direct flights from Delhi to Kyiv
• Indian Embassy is located in Kyiv
• Extremely strict university
• The best option if you are looking for admission in Kyiv

Cons –

• MBBS program started in 2017
• Very less number of Indian students currently enrolled
• No graduates from the medicine program
• You need to clear an entrance exam for admission here
• Extremely strict university
• Too many distractions in Kyiv for students
• The cost of renting a flat in Kyiv is higher than in cities like Chernivtsi, Ternopil, Vinnitsa
• The total budget is on the higher side

Cons –

• It is a private university
• Too many distractions in Kyiv for students
• The cost of renting a flat in Kyiv is higher than in cities like Chernivtsi, Ternopil, Vinnitsa

• Better options are available in Ukraine at a similar budget

• It is a government university
• QS EECA ranking is 231-240
• High FMGE passing percentage in recent years
• Very low tuition fee
• The overall budget is on a lower side
• Indian mess facility available

Cons –

• Long-distance and difficult to travel from Kyiv to Uzhhorod
• A very small city and low population

• Ivano Frankivsk National Medicak University is over 75 years old

Cons –

• Small city and less population
• No university campus, the departments are far away

• Not many students from North India
• High tuition fees

• Only 11 students appeared for FMGE 2019

Black Sea National University, Mykolaiv

Pros –

• MCI & WHO recognized government university
• New and renovated hostel facility
• Indian mess available
• Lowest 1st year budget in Ukraine
• Overall, very low cost, one of the cheapest for MBBS in Ukraine for Indian students
