NEET 2017 Examination: Eligibility criteria for 15 percent All India Quota Seats

The application forms for the NEET 2017 will be out soon at the official website. For applying for the NEET  exam, aspirants need to go through the official notification for the eligibility criteria. CBSE had prescribed the age limit for the aspirants. As per the eligibility criteria prescribed for 15 percent All India Quota Seats under NEET, the applicants should have completed age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before December 31 of the year of his/her admission to the 1st year MBS/BDS Course and is an Indian National.

According to the official that the upper age limit for candidates seeking admission under 15% Al India Quota Seats is 25 years as on December 31 of the year of the entrance examination. The upper age limit for the aspirants will be relaxed by a period of 5 (five) years for the candidates of Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes/Other Backward classes.  Candidate must born on or between January 1, 1987 to January 1, 2000 (SC/ST/OBC Category) or January 01, 1992 to January 01, 2000 (Other Category).

Students from the States of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and J & K are not eligible for 15% all India quota seats as these States had opted out of Al India Scheme since its inception. If the candidates claim eligibility, they will be required to submit online Self Declaration which will be generated and printed automatically along with confirmation page for the record and to present during counseling. The draft self-declaration is as given in Apendix – I.

Candidates from the States of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and J & K can appear in NEET – I for admission to Private Medical/Dental Colleges or any Private/Deemed University and Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune subject o the fulfillment of eligibility conditions. The online Self Declaration of the candidates will be verified at the time of counseling and if bound to be false at any time, the candidature/admission of such candidates shall be canceled and criminal proceedings may be initiated against them.

As per the eligibility for seats under the control of States/Universities/Institutions/ AFMC, applicants should have completed the age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before December 31, of the year of his/her admission to the 1st year MBBS/BDS Course and is an Indian National. The overseas Citizens of India (OCI) are eligible for admission in Medical/Dental Colleges subject to rules and regulations framed by the respective State Governments and the Government of India. The upper age limit for candidates seeking admission under seats in the control of participating States/Universities/Institutions will be as per their rules and regulations.
