Overall, it’s a pretty affordable country to live and study in but we have not seen a great trend of students going towards this country. So, suffice to say, in our humble opinion, it is not a great option to study MBBS in. Another major point to keep in mind is that the FMGE passing percentage is extremely low.
We told you in the beginning that we will check whether it’s a viable country or not to study MBBS in. Right now we can say that go for any other country with multiple universities and good chances like the Philippines, Bangladesh or Ukraine.
FMGE Passing Percentage
In the year 2015-18, we discovered a pattern of the FMGE passing percentage of students who did their MBBS from Tajikistan and came home to give screening exam, and we saw –
So, a total of 901 students appeared but only 80 passed, therefore, the passing percentage was just 8.87%. Anything less than 15-18% is not quite good. It is not viable enough to state that yes, Tajikistan could be a good option. Right now, the passing percentage is stuck at below 10% and it is frankly not a good number. You can see it yourself by analyzing how many applied and how many passed.
But, if you want to go to Tajikistan anyway and settle there only in a beautiful country, then that’s a different topic of the discussion entirely. You can get in touch with us for admission in Tajikistan.
For those students, let’s see the advantages of studying in Tajikistan.
Advantage of MBBS in Tajikistan
Tajikistan is surrounded by Afghanistan, China, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan and although some foreigners tend to be a little sceptical of its safety, the citizens say that if you follow proper rules and heed the instructions issued by the local government, everything is safe and sound. With an abundance of rocky mountains and lagoons, let’s see what more Tajikistan has to offer to the MBBS students from India.
- It is a great destination for adventurous students who like to do hiking, climbing, river rafting, swimming etc.
- The medical degree is recognized by WHO, FAIMER and MCI.
- State of the art university equipped with adequate equipment.
- No religious constraints.
- Low cost of living and low fee structure of the university.
- Application for VISA is a hassle-free task.
Tajikistan is not arguably a hot country but it is also not a cold one. Even if the temperature goes to higher digits, the beautiful lakes always make up for it. It is a colourful country and a little busy too. Most of the states will remind you of Delhi and Mumbai. With a population of 91 lakhs, it is one of the poorest countries in the world, ranked at 192. And having only 1 university for MBBS doesn’t help either. Thankfully, Covid-19 cases in Tajikistan is about 4,000 which is very low compared to other countries. So, it can be one of the factors for you to choose this country after all.
Now, you have all the facts about Tajikistan- its academic structure, weather, demography, the standard of living and cost of living. It is appropriate to conclude now that Tajikistan is not the favoured destination for Indian students wanting to do MBBS from abroad.
