Nanjing Medical University was established in 1934 and is located in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, China. The university has two main campuses which are located in Wutai and Jiangning. The university’s main campus is at Wutai which occupies an area of 8 hectares. The new campus is located in Jiangning which is almost 11 times bigger than the Wutai campus as it is spread over an area of 87 hectares. Eligibility Criteria

Nanjing Medical University (NMU) has a total of 23 affiliated hospitals and has more than 50 teaching hospitals in such cities as Nanjing, Suzhou, Wuxi, Changzhou, Shanghai, Hangzhou and Qingdao. The following 5 teaching hospitals are designated for the internship of international students:
- Jiangsu Province Hospital – Also called the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University. The hospital occupies a land of 1,99,800 square meters with a building area of 2,70,000 square meters. It is a 3,000-bed hospital which currently employs more than 4,000 staff members.
- The Second Affiliated Hospital of NMU – The hospital covers an area of 37,523 square meters with a building area of 79,245 square meters. It is 1,130 beds hospital. The hospital serves more than 1,10,000 patients annually and employs more than 1,900 staff members.
- Nanjing First Hospital – This hospital has 1,665 beds. It is is one of the first top-class comprehensive hospital established by the Ministry of Health, China. The hospital currently occupies an area of 57,900 square meters, with a building area of 118,900 square meters.
- Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital – This hospital has 1,698 beds and 2,900 staff members.
- Nanjing Children’s Hospital – The hospital currently has 1,400 beds and more than 1,700 staff members.
Nanjing Medical University Ranking
As per the website 4icu.org, Nanjing Medical University ranking is 1,082 and the country rank is 108 as on 20 May 2020. Times Higher Education has given NMU a ranking of 601-800 in World University Rankings 2020 category and 144th in Asia University Rankings 2019 category.
However, as stated by Global Medical Foundation on several occasions, these world rankings have no relevance while selecting the medical university for MBBS abroad.
The rankings which Indian students should be checking is the MCI result and Nanjing Medical University‘s FMGE passing percentage was just about 14% between 2015-18.
