Duration of MBBS course at AMA School of Medicine
Indian students, going for MBBS after class XIIย first enrol in a Pre-Medical course of 2 years.ย They will then be admitted to the 4 years MD course equivalent to MBBS in India. The students also have to clear the NMAT. Students with a Bachelors Degree can be admitted directly toย MD course.
Students who have completed graduation will get admission in 4 yearย MD course and won’t have to do BS course.

AMA School of Medicineย offers a 4-year MD degree which is equivalent to MBBS in India. The first 3 years are theoretical and the 4th year is clinical rotation or internship. Students with a graduate degree can directly get admission in the MD course and students going after class 12th have to first attend the BS course. NMAT is required for admission in MD.

1st Year of MD in AMA School of Medicine
The 1stย year covers the normal Human Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry,Psychiatry, Preventive Medicine & Community Health and Medical Practice I. Class lectures are delivered mostly through computers using LCD projectors complemented by slide/ film showing, laboratory work and group discussions. Pedagogy and Bioethics are incorporated in Principles of Medical Practice I. An introduction to Medical Informatics is incorporated in Preventive Medicine and Community Health before the biostatistics session. Problem-based learning is gradually introduces in certain topics in Biochemistry and Physiology.
2nd Year of MD in AMA School of Medicine
The 2ndย year deals with Microbiology, Pathology, Pharmacology,Parasitology, Preventive Medicine and Community Health, Psychiatry II and Medical Economics plus introductory courses in clinical subjects. Students begin to meet patients in actual hospital setting where they are introduced to history taking and physical examination.

4th Year of MD in AMA School of Medicine
The 4thย year or clinical clerkship is mainly spent in actual patient care with 3 affiliated Hospitals serving as the clinical laboratory. Hospital rounds and group discussions give the student a good perspective on bedside manners, diagnosis and management. The clerks rotate through the different clinical departments for 48 weeks with periodic evaluation. The University has arrangement with Govt. Hospitals and the AFP Hospital for Clerkship.
