MCI-approved medical colleges in Uzbekistan

MCI, or the Medical Council of India, was replaced by the National Medical Commission (NMC) years ago. MCI used to maintain a list of approved medical colleges for MBBS abroad for Indian students. However, NMC does not have a list of MCI-approved medical colleges in Uzbekistan or NMC-approved medical colleges for MBBS abroad. Therefore, there is no list of MCI-approved medical colleges in Uzbekistan. So what now?

In November 2021, NMC introduced FMGL Regulations. For a university to be NMC-approved, it must follow all the rules and regulations outlined in the FMGL Regulations.

MBBS in Uzbekistan: Medium of Instruction

The medium of instruction for MBBS studies in Uzbekistan is English throughout the course. According to the new NMC rules and regulations, the medium of instruction for studying MBBS abroad must be English. If the medium of instruction is not English for even 1 year, you will not be allowed to sit for NEXT in India.

As there will be Indian teachers in many colleges, it will be much easier for Indian students to understand what they are being taught. Though the medium of instruction is English, it does not mean you won’t have to learn a new language.

Learning the local language is mandatory for all Indian students. This will help you during patient interactions and interactions with locals, such as cab drivers/shopkeepers.

Hostel Facility by Uzbekistan Medical Colleges

The hostel provides a safe environment for students while also ensuring a low cost of living. All the medical colleges/universities/institutes provide hostel facilities to all newcomers. Usually, students are concerned about the number of students in 1 room and the condition of the hostels. Of course, at some colleges, the hostel facility is better. The hostels are fully furnished, and you don’t incur additional charges for utilities such as electricity or water bills. Most hostels offer washing machines where students can bring their own detergent and use them.
