•  Completed 10th and 12th from a recognised board
• Minimum age: 17 years on or before 31st December of the admission year
• No strict upper age limit (subject to NMC updates)
• Mandatory subjects: Physics, Chemistry, English & Biology
• Minimum 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology for the General category
• Minimum 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology for SC/ST/OBC (India norms)
• The student must have secured qualifying marks in NEET-UG before admission. The NEET result is valid for 3 years for MBBS admission abroad. Even if Timor-Leste universities do not explicitly require NEET, passing NEET is compulsory for eligibility to appear for FMGE in India after graduation.

Some universities may set higher marks as a preference.

As of 1st March 2026, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has not yet officially confirmed whether Timor-Leste or its medical universities fully comply with all FMGL Regulations. In fact, there is no such confirmation for any university or any country abroad. Since the introduction of the FMGL Regulations, unfortunately, NMC has not yet anything.
