Etugen University is a private university located in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia. The university was established in 2002. Global Medical Foundation is the first MBBS abroad consultancy to introduce MBBS in Mongolia in India. GMF has a direct and exclusive contract with Etugen University. Our representative has visited Etugen University. The MBBS program will be 6 years long, including a 1-year internship. The medium of instruction will be English. As per a letter issued by the Ministry of Education of Mongolia, Etugen University’s MBBS program is fulfilling the FMGL Regulations.

Etugen University teaches various courses. It has a Medical School where Indian students will learn medicine. The university also has a Dental School, a Nursing School, an Economics and Management School, an Engineering School and a Pedagogical (Normal) School. Etugen University also has a Vocational Education School, Etugen Secondary Education School, and a Branch university located in Orkhon Province. Building 1 of Etugen University

Etugen University’s Building 1 was built in 2008 and has an area of 4,480 m sq., with 37 auditoriums and 5 floors. The 1st building has –

• 37 auditoriums for lectures and seminars,
• an Academic Council meeting room,
• a mini-cinema,
• a single service area,
• a language laboratory,
• a medical skills centre,
• a faculty room,
• a buffet and cafeteria.

All the buildings of Etugen University are located close to each other. Building 1 is located just 30 meters from Buildings 4 and 5.

Building 2 of Etugen University

Building Number 2 of Etugen University was opened in 2013 and has 15 floors and an area of 7,800 m2. It is located approximately 1 km from Buildings 1, 4, and 5 and approximately 300 m from Building 3. Building Number 2 includes –

• 21 lecture and seminar auditoriums,
• an oral and written examination centre,
• a mini cinema hall,
• a nursing centre,
• a 1700 sqm international standard sports hall,
• a library and reading room,
• and student dormitories.

The gym is also located in this building.

Building 3 of Etugen University

Building 3 of Etugen University was opened in 1980, but was acquired by the university in 2015. It is located around 1 km from Building 1 and around 300 m from Building 2. It has 3 floors and an area of 1,114 m2. This building primarily houses the electronics and electrical engineering laboratories.

Building 4 of Etugen University

Building 5 of Etugen University

The building was completed in 1984 and acquired by the university in 2018. It is located 30 m from Buildings 1 and 5 and 1 km from Buildings 2 and 3. It has 2 floors with an area of 3,700 m2. The clinical laboratory and Etugen Medical Clinic are located here. A 450 m2 modern swimming pool is located here.

Building 5 became part of Etugen University in 2017, even though it opened in 2012. It is located just 300 m from Buildings 1 and 4 and around 1 km from Buildings 2 and 3. The building has 13 floors and an area of around 3,500 sq m. The student hostel is also located in this building. It also has 20 classrooms, a cafeteria, a reading room, a library, a computer lab and a virtual lab.

Following is the fees for a 6-year MBBS course at Etugen University –

• The hostel fee is included in the fees mentioned above.
• Visa extension, medical and health insurance = USD 600 per year is additional.

• Before 18 November 2021, there was a list of recognised medical universities abroad. This list was made by MCI and later on, maintained by NMC. However, everything changed on 18 November 2021.
• NMC introduced the Foreign Medical Graduate Licentiate Regulations (FMGL Regulations) on 18 November 2021.
• It meant that since that day, NMC has not maintained a list of recognised medical universities abroad. The same information is mentioned on NMC’s website.
• It means that as of March 2026. There is no official list of recognised medical universities abroad. Any claims of ‘NMC recognised university’ are a scam.
• If you are an Indian who has taken admission outside of India after 18 November 2021 and wish to appear for FMGE, you must fulfil all the conditions set out in the FMGL Regulations.
• As NMC does not maintain any list of recognised medical universities abroad, we are dependent on the Indian Embassy abroad or the university/appropriate foreign government body for an answer to the question: Does the university fulfil FMGL Regulations?
• Regarding Etugen University’s MBBS degree, the Ministry of Education of Mongolia has stated that, in their view, the medical degree of Etugen University in Mongolia fulfils the conditions laid down under the FMGL Regulations.

The duration of the MBBS course for Indian students at Etugen University is 6 years. It is divided into two parts –

• 5-year theoretical studies
• 1-year internship

This fulfils the NMC’s requirement of a minimum duration of 54 months and a separate 1-year internship.

Etugen University provides in-campus hostel facilities to every student. Global Medical Foundation has a direct partnership with Etugen University and will ensure that each student gets accommodated in the hostel. • The medium of instruction for Indian students at Etugen University for the entire MBBS program will be English.
• Indian students will be taught the local language as a part of the course. This will help the students in day-to-day interactions with locals and during the internship.
• As per FMGL Regulations, the entire course must be taught in English, a condition that is met by the medical program at Etugen University.

A high population generally means a higher number of patient inflows in hospitals.

Developed City

Ulaanbaatar is a highly developed city, and students will find a wide range of facilities there. There will be no issues regarding travel, Indian food, shopping, etc.

Proximity to the Indian Embassy

Etugen University is located in the city centre of Ulaanbaatar. The Indian Embassy is located within 1 km of the university. The Indian Ambassador to Mongolia often visits the university. If the student required any help from the Indian Embassy, it would take them less than 10 minutes on foot to reach it.

One Campus

All the buildings of Etugen University are located within 1 km. This means that students will not be spending any additional money on travel between departments. It is one of the few universities where all the buildings of a university are in close proximity to one another.

Hostel Facility

In-campus hostel facility will be provided to every student. The hostel rooms are fully furnished with attached washrooms and a washing machine in each room.

Any Indian passport holder who is seeking admission to study MBBS in Mongolia at Etugen University must fulfil the following eligibility criteria:

• Age: At least 17 years old in the year in which the student is starting their studies
• NEET: The student must have secured qualifying marks in NEET-UG
• 12th marks for General category candidate: A minimum aggregate of 50% marks in PCB in 12th
• 12th marks for SC/ST/OBC category candidate: A minimum aggregate of 40% marks in PCB in 12th
• English must be a mandatory subject
• The student must pass Etugen University’s online interview
