Does Georgia fulfil FMGL Regulations?

Till today, the NMC of India has not approved any medical university outside of India. So how do we know if a medical degree from a foreign medical university/country is valid in India?

The NMC introduced FMGL Regulations in 2021. As per NMC, your degree will be valid in India if all the rules and regulations mentioned are fulfilled. However, NMC has not confirmed which country/university fulfils FMGL Regulations. Therefore, there is no way to know which country’s medical degree is valid in India. The same case is with Georgia. So what to do now?

We have to depend on what the Indian Embassy/Education Ministry/University of a country is saying. Georgia’s Education Ministry came out with a notification on 9th August 2024 in response to the FMGL Regulations. Check out the notification here – Is MBBS in Georgia Valid in India? (as per the Ministry of Education of Georgia).
