Tver State Medical University

Tver State Medical University was founded in 1936 and is amongst the oldest, biggest and the most reputed educational institution in Russia.

Tver State Medical University has more than 6,000 beds in 10 hospitals, which includes specialised hospitals for oncology, tuberculosis, infectious, skin and sexual transmitted diseases.

Tver State Medical University is recognised by World Health Organization (WHO) and the Medical Council of India (MCI).

Tver State Medical University is recognized, in accordance with the law, by the Medical Council of India (MCI). This simply means that after graduating from this university and clearing the MCI Screening Test, the Indian students will be eligible to work in any government or private hospital in India. Out of the 800 Indian students currently  studying in the university, about 250 are girls. Indian doctors who passed out from the Tver State Medical University are successfully working in government and private hospitals around the whole world.

Tver State Medical University has four hostels which can accommodate up to 1840 students. Two of the hostels provides flat luxury, i.e., it has attached bathroom; toilet and kitchen. The hostels are centrally heated (air-conditioned) and fully furnished. Generally two to three students stay in one room.

Every hostel has internet facility (wi-fi and broadband). Students can get Indian food at the canteen of the hostel and foreign TV channels (Hindi, Tamil etc.) are also available. All the hostels are well guarded with police security. Bed linen is changed once in a week and the hostel is cleaned once every day.

Tver State Medical University organises cultural programs every year in which students from various countries of the world take part. The Indian student association celebrates Indian festivals like Diwali, Holi, Baisakhi etc. every year. Tver State Medical University also organizes tournaments like table tennis, International tournaments of Cricket, Football, Basketball, and Badminton etc.
